So Ye Oh was born in 1993 in Seoul, South Korea. She is a New York-based artist, making soft sculpture like shabby dolls and baby blankets by using her printed fabrics and found fabrics. With studies of developmental psychology from her college and further research she has done in graduate school, she focuses on themes of childhood and parenthood, especially the relationship between a mother and a child. She received a BA from the University of Michigan in 2016 and graduated from the MFA Fine Arts program at Pratt Institute in May, 2020. Her work was selected by the Michigan Association of State Universities to be exhibited at the Michigan House of Representatives during the 2016 to 2017 academic year as part of the “Student Art in the House” exhibition program. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions including “Something from Nothing Art” at Space 776, NYC, “Platform” at Winston Wachter Fine Art, NYC, and “Inheritance” at Super Dutchess Gallery, NYC.
